Description

Your Favorite Chumashim - Now Available in our App Library!

Imagine - the entire Chumash literally at your fingertips and with you wherever you go – on a train, on a plane, waiting for an appointment, on a break at work or school. Anywhere and anytime, you can turn fleeting minutes into lasting learning – with no heavy volumes to carry.

The Edmond J. Safra Digital Edition of the Chumash is a new innovative addition to the ever-expanding ArtScroll Digital Library/Wasserman Digital Initiative. The sponsorship of the Edmond J. Safra Digital Edition provides the Chumash in Hebrew, English, and French, based on the Schottenstein Edition Hebrew Chumash, the classic Stone Edition English Chumash, and the Edmond J. Safra French Chumash.

The Digital Chumash features the classic ArtScroll text, fonts and translation, including vowelized Rashi, Ikkar Sifsei Chachamim and Baal Haturim, with expanded sources and numerous features, including tens of thousands of hyperlinks, allowing the reader instant access to every available source online or offline, from Tanach, Medrash, Talmud and Mishnah to the Ramban, Ohr Hachaim and whichever other commentary is quoted.

The Digital Chumash features amazing functionalities:

-The Verse-by-Verse Mode allows you to open one pasuk at a time, with the translation appearing beneath it, along with the commentaries of Rashi, Onkelos, Ikkur Sifsei Chachomim, and Baal Haturim, and explanatory notes as well.

-The Shnayim Mikra Mode shows the pasuk twice, followed by the commentary of Onkelos, for those who wish to recite shnayim mikra, reading the weekly parshah twice along with the Targum once. Another feature shows the pasuk text twice followed by the translation in English.

- The Tikkun Mode is a full-blown digital “tikkun lakorim” for those who wish to prepare the Torah reading as it appears in a Sefer Torah, perfect for baalei kriah. The various options of this section, showing the Torah script with or without cantillation marks, pasuk markers, vowels, and more, provide the reader with remarkable versatility.

Readers can also view the Chumash and Onkelos in an interlinear format, automatically highlighting where Onkelos deviates from the literal translation of the words. Rashi’s commentary can be presented in Rashi font or regular block font, switching between the options with ease.

There are multiple options that allow for phrase-by-phrase or verse-by-verse translation, presented in three formats.

Synchronized highlighting allows translation popovers and the ability to add personal highlights, notes and bookmarks.

Another outstanding feature is a full Chumash search, allowing the user to look up any word in all of Chamishah Chumshei Torah.
